About us
BACKGROUND

The Gcinabantu Hutchison Ngcukayitobi Foundation(GNF) was founded and launched on 2 December 2022. It was formed as a direct response to a call by its founding members, for the community to be actively involved in addressing pressing challenges impacting our society. The issues of poverty, hunger, malnutrition, rape , killing of women and children, amongst others are the responsibility of every community member and collectively a sustainable impact can be made

The GNF is a non-membership community-based organization aiming at addressing social-ills like Gender-Based Violence, malnutrition and communal diseases.

The constitutional mandate of the GNF is to strive for peace and justice. The head office of the GNF is located at 49 Vukuthi Street, Southernwood, Mthatha.

The GNF changes lives by bringing hope and working for justice for the poor, women, children & all vulnerable members of our societies with a focus on communities within the Eastern Cape with high incidences of gender-based violence, child abuse, crime and rape.

GNF is a platform for advocacy against social ills. In a province which is plagued by underdevelopment, poverty, hunger, crime, unemployment and all other related social ills, the Foundation has set itself at the centre of advocating against these social ills. We have set ourselves right within the communities where we get to hear about the issues first hand and are thus able to provide immediate relief whilst lobbying for long term solutions to issues facing communities. We exist because we are a part of the communities that face these harsh realities and ours is to work hand in hand with our fellow neighbours in finding lasting and real time solutions in the context of our communities.

The GNF alerts and lobbies relevant government departments into providing urgent public services, educating in particular remote communities about their constitutional rights and service delivery components. It works to defend and provide safe spaces to empower women and children in particular on constitutional rights aimed at protecting them from social ills.
The GNF also aims at positioning men and boys in the centre of establishing healthy family structures in order to promote peaceful and prosperous families and communal societies that are free from all social-ills including Gender-based violence, crime, poverty, unemployment, HIV and AIDS and related illness.
The GNF gives a voice to the voiceless through access to information and sharing it with the communities whilst exposing them to channels that are helpful in respond to the community needs.
